Fired her up today from the winter sleep and she lit off with some choke and a couple of throttle twists Warmed up and idled perfect.

Just ordered a replacement windshield (old one scratched) and a cable luber and a can of lube. I haven't done it yet and the bike's an 06'. It is one of those things I am always going to get to, but never do

Well, I finally finished up all the stuff I wanted to do for the winter and took her for about an hour ride.......wonderful

Here's a list of what all I did:

Changed gear box oil - easy

Put on new Michelin Commander II tires (front and rear). Love them so far.

Changed out the rear brake pads.....they were WAAAAAAY thin. I installed Yamaha OEM pads.

Installed new stainless clutch cable.

Installed stainless throttle cables.

Changed fork oil - not very hard, but since this was my first time it was a bit time consuming (4 beers).

Took carb off:
Took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly.
Checked float level.

Changed out my Barons Big Air filter for a K&N RC 1980. Lot cleaner looking and shows off her jugs more. She's showing a bit more cleavage now......I like it.

Checked the steering head bearings.....still good.

Changed spark plugs.

I encountered only one slight problem when I went to start her up on Sunday:

Got everything back together, tank on & all hooked up. Turned on the key and cranked her over...she cranked but wouldn't fire. I wondereed if I missed something eleectrical so started retracing my steps. I couldn't find anything, but then noticed I forgot to turn the gas on duhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I turned the gas on and she fired right up, but was running really bad.....spitting and sputtering....wouldn't idle, etc. Since I didn't have the air filter on yet I looked at the carb and noticed gas puking out the front.......profuse puking. I turned it off and cranked the throttle and noticed the gas was coming from around where the accelerator pump is. I took the carb off again and took it apart thinking I would find the float stuck, but, alas, when I cleaned the carb I apparently lost the very tiny little "o" ring for the accelerator pump. I finally found one at the dealer....cost me a buck, but now she runs like new......I'm in love all over again for another season.

The only thing I didn't get done that I wanted to do this winter was change out my 3" Big Straights (Hard Chrome) to a V&H 2 into 1 Power Pro Pipe. Maybe later this year or next year. Time to start saving for rides this summer.....Where is the Midwest M&G gonna be???? Anyone thinking about it yet?

I dont like the seat (Corbin) It makes me feel like I'm riding a littel kids bike.Ya know how your knees r to high and the handle bars hit your leg's, ya just like that. I cant wait for them apes ,I'll see how I like it then.

Man, it keeps staying so nice out... I can't get anything done! I keep riding. My rear is bald. I've got a new one sitting right here in my office, but, if I take my wheel off and send it out to be trued, new tire mounted and balanced... I can't ride!!!
