do the symbols have any significant meaning?
The skull is taken from a Grateful Dead album cover and the three tuning forks logo is Yamaha's logo.

ought to put rsc in script at the bottom and make it a road star clinic patch, i might be interested in a big and small one as well especially if it is a reflective thread
I want any Yamaha enthusiast to be able to use the patch. Whether they ride their motorcycles, use their boat motors, or play their musical instruments.

I like it! Keep us posted if and when you make a move to put into production. I'm in for a few.

I found a guy on eBay who was from Ukraine I think, he did the cross in my avatar. I might be able to get in touch with him again. It was dirt cheap too but he did a great job. Let me know if you want me to try and look him up again.

I will start with I am not an attorney, but have some experience with intellectual properties. The design is great and I can see why you all like it. The issue is that all art has what is known as an implied copyright when it is drawn and the artist can file a copyright at any time. If you wish to use this art for any purpose you will have to establish what is known as prior art in other words you had the design first. Sale or distribution to the public, no matter how limited is considered a copyright and or trademark infringement.
The next issue that is of concern is the use of trademarked logos like the Grateful Dead Skull and the Yamaha tuning forks. These are registered trademarks and are only reproducible with a license. They can sue for the unlicensed use. In a case where there was no mass sale or distribution, there probably won't be anything more than a letter to cease and desist from an attorney, but they can sue for damages to their trademark. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but would recommend you proceed with an understanding that there could be some issues down the road.
Again, I am not an attorney so you may use or rely on this information as you wish. It is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Does that sound like one of those adds with the rapid fire disclaimer at the end.

I'm going to respectfully back down. Sorry for getting everyone's hopes so high.

They'll embroider/applique anything in Thailand, and maybe even with no minimums. Want me to check for you?
There's a woman in the center of town who has embroidery machines and makes some of the most intricate patches I've ever seen.
I've been thinking about designing a patch for myself and bringing it to her.

Unab8d_Ly4m, Sorry to dash your plans, but it is probably not an issue if you make a one off for yourself, the real issue is when you start distributing them. Even if you do it freee, or for cost they consider that sales so you would expose yourself to contact from a lawyer. I know is seems trivial, but companies invest a lot in branding and the logo is the focus of that. Trademarks must be defended, or they will be allowed to fall into the public domain. I wish it were different. You can get a Harley Davidson patch in about a thousand different layouts, but Star not much. Maybe someday.
