If SCOTUS upholds this health care mandate as constitutional, the federal government will have the power to make you do anything.

I totally agree and I've been saying for years the same thing about mandatory auto insurance. It seems like it is government sponsored racketeering

The only difference with auto insurance is that people who are mandated to have it are people who choose to drive. It is also a state regulation and varies from state to state. It is not mandated by the federal government.

The health care mandate is forced upon individuals by the federal government just for breathing. Those who choose not to purchase health care and not participate in health care commerce, are forced to do so.

A glaring comparison would be for the government to force individuals who don't own a car and don't drive to purchase auto insurance anyway.

This whole thing, has always been about creating a huge slush fund that the feds could use at their discretion. 90% of the people in this country had HC of some kind, and a few simple tweeks could have narrowed the last 10% down considerably. Obama, and the progressive dems in the House and Senate, skipped right over the other alternatives, and went for the biggest power grab by the federal government we've ever seen.
If the feds can do this, then they can force each and everyone of us to do, say, and or buy whatever they deem is "best" for us.
Freedom of choice...aka "abortion" has always been touted as some sort of Constitutional right. Apparently, when it comes to us selecting a means of funding our own HC cost, "freedom of choice" is just a catchy phrase.

The federal government was faced with the dilemma of telling the American people, that they, had screwed up(written bad checks with intent of fraud).
All of their HC initiatives like Medicare, and Medicaid, were nothing more then unsustainable government programs, as they were originally presented. Those programs had proved to be unmanageable, rift with fraud, and financially unsustainable. The government has been incapable of remedying those problems.
Rather then owning up to the fact that they couldn't deliver, and had been lying out their backsides, they have doubled down with Obamacare. Their goal, has always been to fund the government programs that have become known as entitlements, and increase the availability of funding for an even larger "spread the wealth around" program.
Their first move, was to sweep their failed medicare plan under the rug, by rolling it into Obamacare so it'd disappear from sight. "Medicare?? what medicare? We don see no steeeeenkeen medicare"

Thanks to Obamacare, Marxist Communism, has come to the US in all it shining glory. HC payed for with other peoples sweat and money, and provided for those who can't(or won't) take care of themselves, at the expense of those who can, is now supposed to be a human right. That thought has been planted in the minds of those voters who have decided that demanding other people support them, is a great deal(and somehow, just fine and dandy).
With Obamcare, the federal government has thrown down the gauntlet, regarding them being able to force us to pay for whatever the federal government determines it wants to do. The federal government now has a new lease on their abilty to continue throwing good money after bad, in an ever growing and ongoing effort to be "fair", with somebody else's money.
The federal government is doing what none of us would ever dream of doing. Their reaching into somebody else's pockets, to pay for their power base. That "power base", is nothing more then a newer and even bigger group of people who believe that the governments job, is to take care of the "power bases" every need.
A "power base" who have willingly thrown away their freedom, in an effort to force others to take care of them. A "power base' who's only goal, is to punish the achievers and earners in our society, in an effort to destroy those who are successfully responsible for themselves. The grand class warfare rhetoric of inequality, that will be cured by government redistribution.

If obamacare isn't thrown out by the Supreme Court, then America will become the country Obama and his communist friends have always thought it should be, and the America our fore fathers fought and died to create, keep, and protect, will be no more. The march towards communism, will no longer be a journey in progress(as it was throughout most of the last century), it will be a journey completed.

It's time for people to start asking themselves, if their pro communist socialist, because of those things they think are "good and fair", and the government should take from others to provide for them, or if they want to protect their freedom.

Mandated health care + implementation of the U.N.'s Agenda 21 = Total and Utter Control.

Agenda 21 implementation is the reason gas prices are getting more expensive. If gas prices keep rising their hope is that people will move closer and closer to the center of towns. I don't know about where everyone els lives, but there hasn't been nearly as many subdivision expansions as there have been apatment complexes being built. We aren't taking 2 or three fourplex apartment buildings. We are taking 7-12 4 story apartment buildings that have at least 6 apartments per building.

If they can get enough people to move closer to the center of cities, they can claim the surrounding areas as reserves. Thus, creating small controllable areas because you won't be allowed to move to other less densely populated areas because those areas are "protected".

This is not looking pretty.

I guess I'm on the other side of things here. Why does everyone always equate these things with the domino effect? Granted, it would be awesome if the US had a true universal health care system (like most of the other first world countries on the planet), but working within the bounds of what is available, and trying to placate the health insurance companies, this is the "best" that can be done to provide health care for as many people as possible.

I really don't understand why there is such resistance in this country to manning up and helping out your fellow man (and before you jump all over the "illegal immigrant" bullshit, they paid hundreds of millions in taxes last year). There are way too many people in this country that feel that social justice is a passing convenience, useful only when it serves themselves.

And, read Marx again before you say that this plan is Marxist. He would have been appalled at such a thing, a select few pushing this idea on others. His entire push was that the people should rise up (the proletariat) to form a pure democracy.
