If some of these people, want single payer healthcare and it is on the individual states to decide whether they want it or not. Aren't they barking up the wrong tree? Why not take it to the streets in their own states? I never understood why the Federal Government needed to get involved with abortion or any other social matter, though. If a state doesn't want it then that is that. I guess I'm just out of the loop.

......because the federal government can be swayed by the liberal voting base.....and liberals know this. This is why liberal judges are championed by the left, as the answer to fix anything.

Look where Obama spent time and money campaigning in 07 and 08. It was in the big voter rich areas that have traditionally been willing to embrace his entitlement agenda's, and the moneyed left in Hollywood. His base is, and always has been, those people who are more then ready to have their politicians take from one group, and give to those who are dependent and have long since given up any hope, of financial independence.
This country is effectively controlled, by seven or eight major cities.
It makes Reagans landslide even more spectacular.

Well, "that's not FAIR" . . .

I'm honestly sick of not being represented. I am not a spiritual or religious person. I believe wholeheartedly in our U.S. Constitution and that it is NOT a living document. I also believe that social issues should be left up to each individual state. I also believe that the National Guard soldiers should NOT have to go out of the state they signed into service for. I believe in governmental and personal responsibilities. Man/Woman up! I believe that if it takes two to make a baby it should take two to decide to terminate the pregnancy. I also believe that a woman should not have more protection when it comes to alimony and child custody. Women wanted equality...let's give it to them. I don't believe that any race is above any other. I believe that the best way to promote equality amongst citizens to get rid of entitlement programs. I don't understadn the point of paying someone to not contribute to society or to pay a farmer not to grow certain crops.

I'm sorry . . .

If you reward bad behavior, you'll get more of it. Entitlement spending isn't going to create less of a problem, and never has.
Government run HC, based on redistributionist thinking, isn't going to do anything but escalate the cost needed to maintain it, and encourage the mindset, that somebody else is supposed to take care of you.
The number of people who will think that since somebody else has to pay for it, then they might as well belly up to the trough, will go up, not down.

Even after doubling the cost estimates of Obamacare, I think their still way low. Look at how much they missed the mark with Medicare(whose established fraud and corruption, was just rolled into Obamacare).

...it is an ever growing voter base, many of whom, think that since they don't know the person their taking money from, that it makes it fine. They think they deserve it, and their elected representatives, tell them it's theirs.
This is why socialist and communist economies have to literally collapse, or, move towards capitalism to survive. The tug of war as human nature vacillates between it's desire for freedom, and it's desire to get something for nothing, ends with the loss of freedom. Yet, history gets opportunities to repeat itself, again and again. The new wards of socialism look at the old lessons, and think that they can do better. The arrogance of intellect. The sophistry of Socialism.

....all because of the word "fair", and the variety of things that it can mean, to each of those who hear it.

Why not move to a communist/socialist country and not try to make America communist/socialist, then?

The whole utopia ideal says show up with the clothes on your back and all will be provided. Why not get the hell out of America and see what it gets you?

Yes. I am quoting myself. Wouldn't this be a really good reality TV show?

It'd probably be a little bit like "That 70's Show" comes to Greece.

Utopians first try to convince the populace that everyone else is doing it successfully, even though that's a lie. Look at Canada and the UK. They've recently announced that they are considering going back to private health care components.

The Utopians also try to convince the populace that "the greatest country in the world" should pay for the unproductive because "the greatest country in the world" has the means to do so. However, "the greatest country" did not become great with handouts to the unproductive. It became great due to individual sovereignty and liberty.

Even "the greatest country in the world" cannot sustain socialism when only half of the producing class pay federal income taxes.

The Bamster has announced, that if the Supremes over turn his HC law, it'd be "judicial activism". Is he not, the most shameless provocateur to ever sit in the Oval Office. Good Grief.

Every time he talks, I get the image of a little kid hiding on his grannies front porch, yelling insults at the neighbors

Amen brutha! Only issue w/ that is there would also have to be legislation that NO state can be bailed out by the federal gvmnt. California is a good example. The ridiculously liberal policies they have there are blood draining....not to mention the "sanctuary cities".....aw hell,it's a sanctuary state muchless city, that's as broke as broke could be. Does that phase them? Apparently not.

I find it hard to belive these politicians are that stupid and its just their systematic way of dismantling america and its values. If the little "slip" if obamas tongue while he thought the mic was off recently while he was scamming with a russian who will "transmit" the information to Valdamir...or whatever his name is......doesn't wake EVERYBODY up we're in big trouble. 4 more years of him and this conntry is done.
In fact, I think if he even loses the election he will go on a 3 monrh spending spree and legislative tyrant the likes of which we've never seen.
