IMHO they make a HUGE difference in being seen by cagers!

I've gotten used to riding with my lamps on all the time and the way traffic responds. I rode a buddys Ducati for a few mile in the same area I normally ride. WOW! What a difference in the way the cagers reacted to me coming towards them. I had 4 cars turn left in front of me in a two mile stretch. I had to hit the brakes every time and by the time I gave my buddy back his Duc I was paranoid. I couldn't beleive how many stupid cagers were on the road that morning. It wasn't until I thought about it later that I realized they just couldn't see me.

There is a incredible difference in visibility with the passing lamps combined with the headlight in the daytime coming towards you.

I agree.

1. They look great on the bike.
2. You can see a lot better at night.
3. Oncoming traffic can see you much better.

Or, maybe it was in other order.

Re:Passing Lamps - Why? 1 Year, 2 Months ago
I added mine purely to be seen by otherwise oblivious drivers! The amber lamps plus my headlight modulator/brake light flasher combo ($85, click HERE for the website) ensures that those around me notice me 99% of the time. I even had a weak minded driver pull over to the shoulder on GA 400 this week she was so fearful of the Mighty Road Star!!

Night vision only increases marginally from my point of view with passing lamps, but I'm much more visible at night.
