Seriously the only people that might want to do this change of springs is more for people like me that weigh alot. I weigh around 300. If you're skinny-assed, you really will be just fine with the 465 shock as is. Ironman started this because he was not happy with the 465 with the original 465 spring. I took this a little farther only because I wanted the partnumber of the (825/1250) that can be installed on the 465 shock.

Thanks for the info and setting me straight greenpus. I guess I am guilty for skimming through the posts a bit too fast.

Now - do I go for the spring upgrade too? I come in at around 260 but the girlie's only like a buck ten. I'm afraid of going way too stiff, because that would be just as bad as the jello-Buick ride I have now.

I don't know. All I can recommend is buy the 465 and install as is. If you and your girlie bottom out on the bumps with the maximum settings, then you might consider getting the (825/1250) spring for your 465. Taking the shock off isn't really that hard.

Think I came to the same conclusion. No point in buying it until I know I need it.

Thanks for your input Green.

Can you buy the 465 shock without the spring? I already put progressive spring on with stock shock.

I also wanted to add a bit of info that I got from progressive suspension in regard to the PCS spring if someone decides to install it on their 465.

Even though the 1181-20b spring is 1 inch longer than the spring that comes with the 465 shock, the "minimum installed length"
for the roadstar bike is 142mm (5.59" and stays the same with the new 1181-20b spring.

When you remove the spring from the 465 shock there will be two clip grooves showing. Put the clip back into the original groove it came out of. Do not move the clip to the top groove.
