Dinner with Jonna 1 Year, 1 Month ago

You see that long single skid mark? That's mine. Made by my New Austone Taxi Tire (Darkside tire)
I first want to say I think it saved my life. It provided GOBS of slow down for me, I know a bike tire would have just let me side right into the Guy. Absolute positive I have had this accident before with a bike tire.

Be aware! They do not acknowledge you in their minds. I talked to the dude, I got his side of the story as to why he pulled in front of me. Yes he is still alive too, only because he had enough Jewels to come out of the gas well while I waited. He was driving like a 5 ton gas well service truck.

I was on a ride for nothing, bike is all recently gone over, a test run of sorts. I am going 55 It is perfect day no sun in my eyes or his, clear line of sight for both of us. Ideal conditions.

So why did it happen?

He said, I saw you, I stopped but something just made me turn, I have no idea.

And that's exactly how I saw it! I was amazed he turned in front of me! AMAZED!

I'm cruising the speed limit 55, it was cold, I am in no hurry. I see him ahead, I keep on the throttle and maintain my path. He stops, as if to acknowledge he sees me. This lures me in to relaxing and planning on getting by so he can turn after me. About 50 yards before I get there he hits the gas with the wheels turned right into my path!

You see the results! About a 50 Foot skid. I laid on the brakes HARD! It was all I could do I was there.
Towards the end of the skid it was still skidding and starting to lean left. Low side. So I bailed out of the brakes and found a hole between an oncoming car and the tail of his truck, I had that bike leaned so far Jesus himself could not have conviced me it was not going over. Then, it flipped back the other way to the high side and I thought this was it. It was out of control at that point and I was strictly a passenger! I have no idea how I kept it up..... it was like slow speed tank slap for about 20 yards past him and then I got it off the side. I pulled a muscle in my left rib area, That was it. I think I might have a flat spot on the tire, that is it.

I sat there a Minute and he went on into the gas well he was pulling into and did his Job, I waited for him. I could go down that road but something told me if I went in after him and he got smart, only I was going to come out, a gas well is a great place for HIM to have an accident.

A lot of people saw this happen, No one stopped. I initionaly stopped right in the road because of the pulled muscle, when I stopped I almost dropped the bike because of the shooting pain. They went right on by.

I turned around to take a picture of the skid and catch this guy coming out. He sheepishly came out. I had him blocked in at the road where he turned in. He said he was sorry and you fill in what I said. Same as you would of. In turned into a watch out for motorcycles speach. He really was sorry and I could tell it scared him a lot too. So I asked what the hell went through your head?

He had no idea, he said he saw me, he stoped to let me go by and for some reason he went ahead he had not idea why. He was not on the phone he was not texting he just had his head up his rear and looking right at me.

So now I have to make an adjustment to the eye contact thing, he saw me, looked at me and turned in front of me.

I liked Jonna, but I do not want to have dinner with him this soon.

Hope you all learned from this.

I am absolute the Austone saved me from T boning that guy at 55.

I am convinced by that guy that if I had the blinking headlamp deal whatever that is someone sells here. He might not have done this and I am going to order one like today! Who ever that is that sells them on here PM me or someone point me to him!

Dragoon and his product has saved me several times. They started to pull out and then see the flashing headlight and then they stop on the second thought of who it might be.

Glad it turned out okay. I thought that I was going to have to split between two card coming at me when one tried to pass on the double yellow. Fortunately, the guy in my lane saw me and kept going off the road to my right.

Not fun!

I have noticed on a couple of occasions eye contact doesn't mean anything. Your smaller than a car, they think your farther away than you really are, and it didn't look like you were going that fast. My compliments to your riding skills and the angel flying along side. I've seen it on this site "never ride faster than your angel can fly" I guess they can do 55 ok.

I have a lot of riding skills I will admit, I have a lot of experience, Years and Miles, and various conditions, but in some situations like that one, I was strictly a passenger, Skill in that one was like 10% Tire was like 85% and luck was 100% Can that be? Does it add up?

The dude LOOKED at me, he saw me and he can not explain why he went!

I just ordered the headlight Modulator Dragoon sells, (Thanks Smoke for the tip) When i first saw one I thought it was a COP so I was all careful and watching him and it perked me up. I think this dude was just fatigued and something like the Headlight Modulator would have snapped him to attention.

ORDERED! It is going on!

I would have ordered one for Schatzies Bike too, but I am waiting to see if the Revolution will work with my tail lamps, If it will, I will get it and pass this to her. Or sell it and get us both a Revolution.

The price is great this month, you all should hop on board.
