I've had the E3's in for about 12,000 to 15,000 miles. Put them in almost a year ago. Very good plugs with no throttle hesitation I have encountered w/the lesser priced plugs. I haven't gotten any better mileage with them, but they are just as good as the iridiums at a much lower price. I will stay with them , and as mentioned I expect them to last longer between changes. I usually change plugs at 15,000 miles but I plan to run these quite a bit longer. Very good plugs in my opinion.

That's enough info for me to change from the Iridiums to the E3's. I've had my Iridiums in for 2 seasons(roughly 18,000 miles). I looked at them at the beginning of this season and thought, "Maybe a little longer......", but now tomorrow I'm going to Autozone and gettting some E3.36's.

I haven't yet pulled my plugs on the exhaust side, the way I understand the book to read, you don't have to pull the tank off.
Can they be changed with the tank on and raised in the rear?

Theoretically, yes, but I take the tank off anyway. If nothing else it gives me a chance to clean everything under there, plus it's a piece of cake to do. Just make sure you turn the gas off and drain all the lines...otherwise you could have a mess on your hands....and on your bike.....and on the floor....

Good advice,it very easy to cross thread plugs in AL threads in heads esp in front cyl trying to work with tank up at an angle.

Only takes 5-6 more mins to fully/properly remove tank for total access to all plugs.

I'm not sold enough to pull out my Iridiums just yet. I'd like to hear what those who put them in a year ago have to say about them a year later..

Hey Darn, what's the difference between the Iridiums (which I am running also) and the E3 I'm not planning on changing, Just like to know

===================

Not Darn but will take a shot at it.

On the iridiums, the main positive about iridium plugs is the fine/thinner iridium wire of the center electrode takes less voltage/current to fire/generate a spark inbetween center & grnd electrod which is a plus for guys with carbs that are setup on rich end of fuel calibration making them get dirty quicker and the iridium is also more resistant to wear/gap errosion extending its srv'c life over that of a std design plug too.

The E3's have a mult grnd strap design (somewhat like splitfires design) resulting in mult sparks every time plug fires for a better/more efficnet combustion which in some cases can increase mpg etc.

The more out of line carbs setup is /esp too fat the improvement you can see with the E3's mult spark grnd starp desing to help ignite the additonal
fuel thats not really needed.

Thanks for the info. I thought it looked pretty tight down there.

If you are planning on raising the tank...just take it off! It's not any more difficult to just finish removing it IMHO.

Remove the 3 hex heads on the 'dash', lay it up on the bars (secure it if you are afraid it will fall), Turn off petcock, remove fuel line (drain in cup/towel), unlatch your seat, unplug the green plug, remove the back bolt on the tank and lift while pulling backwards, set it on an old blanket.

Set it down low where it won't fall and get dented...

Ok guys and gals... I have now had the E3 plugs in fir a year and around 20k... I absolutely love them... I constantly get 50mpgs and the bike still runs great with the sane plugs... I have not taken them out or cleaned them... still feel the performance that I did when I installed them... I really do like these plugs and plan on staying with them... also still working great in the vehicles too

I hope I'm saying the same thing in 20k miles!
