Hi,

I just bought the Kenwood KMR700 for my invicta fairing. Did you figure out how to mount it in your fairing? Not sure where to put the head unit.

Thanks,
Doug

Going to order one in about a week. 5" or 6x9???

If 5" what do you think of their speakers (http://recklessmotorcycles.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=46), look nice, just want something that sounds awesome!

Thinking of http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_20506_Sony+CDX-GT640UI.html for stereo.

Appreciate opinions on speakers? I've heard so many crappy speaker setups; that are so distorted (especially at high volumes). I don't want that.

I eventually plan on putting on a HD tour pack with speaker pods.

Thanks guys!

I like Alpine speakers. I have their Type-R series now 5.25's in the front and 6x9's in the rear all driven with an Alpine PDX 4.150 digital amp (very low draw). Their Type-X are a step up for the true audiophile. Other options that some really like are Pyle and Focal's (I would try Focals if I did it again).

Hey Bru...
....your stereo looks great..took a peak..don't know what you're planning for an antenna..but I just bought a Tune Trapper and installed in the HD touring fairing that I have on my R*. sound is great and the antenna is hidden..
http://www.tunetrapper.com/motorcycle_antenna.html May be of interest from B.C.

Re:Ordered my Reckless 1 Year ago
I am considering ordering my reckless Motorcycle Fairing, but I had a couple questions:
1. Will my light bar need to be relocated to fit? If so, how hard is it?
2. they tried to talk me into the 5" but I have the 3" Hard Krome Big Straights without baffles, and I am wondering which setup I should choose???

Any help would be appreciated. It has been awhile since this topic has been discussed. I just needed to know.

Thanks ahead of time,
Jamey

Jamey I went with the 6 1/2" rounds because:
- impossible to find an exact 5" replacement should one fail
- 6x9s require an amp (usuall) to really sound good and I didn't want to overload the stock stator
- lots of room for improvement in the future

But based on searching lots of guys have gone with the 5" speakers and say good things about them. Also, I haven't received mine yet so I can't comment on the wisdom of my choice.

Can't help you with the lightbar, but lots of guys here seem to run the stock bar and never mentioned fit issues.

I'm curious, how long did they tell you it would be before it was made and shipped? My patience is wearing thin.

You should be able to get 5.25 speakers in there, I did but Reckless has changed there style sense I bought mine for the R* a couple of years ago. I just ordered one for a H-D Road King with the 6.5 cutouts but it hasn't shipped yet.
