I resently removed all the Ca emmissions from my bike Plus the AIS crap.Bike is running excellent.Plus did the fuel relocation to the right side cover.Cleaned
up the left side.My question is where are you guys getting you torque and HP numbers from.I have the stock accessories catalog, and in the back at the speedstar
section I don`t see torque go over 100 till a stage three kit.I have a 2006
road star. And no matter what the numbers are(me and the Missis are over the 400#
mark together) my bike goes when I hit the throttle even at 75mph.Did an all out
test the other day went up to 105 and was stll going.Ran out of room.Still have
stock pipes and carb set up.Before removing all that stuff it petered out right at 100. so what do ya think my numbers are now?Sorry got long winded.

Thanks for the kudos on the site Dave. It has been a spendidly collaborated effort on the part of all of our users. Glad you decided to join us!

Both of the modifications you made tend to be thought of as 'non performance enhancing'. The Fuel pump has no job but to fill up the float bowl, thus either does its job (and the bike runs) or doesn't. The AIS is a post-combustion system that does nothing more than add fresh air to the exhaust to lower its ppm (parts per million) of post combustion particulates.

I guess an argument could be made for the AIS system absorbing some of the energy in the tail pipe's pressure events, thus decreasing the pipes scavenging capabilities. That is really the only thing I can think of with regard to your getting better high RPM performance. Its not supposed to work that way, but I don't think anything else could explain it. But can't argue with results. If your seeing better performance, then we need to start rethinking how the AIS affects performance.

Welcome to the clinic!
