I installed my 465 today and I can reach the clicker just fine without removing the shock.
Just stick the long end of the 12 inch allen wrench through the left side and click click click click. no problems.

You guys almost had me scared

My adjuster is on the RIGHT side. Is it possible to install the shock upside down?

The red screw goes on top and the adj clicker goes on the left.

Same here, right side. I was wondering if it was installed upside down. I can still get to the clicker but it's not a clean shot.

So what's the danger of leaving it upside down? After all, its a round cylinder. Just being kind of cranky that I might have to do this again after installing it twice already. I swear up and down that Progressive's instructions didn't specify this, because I was stumped on which way was up and just went with my gut.

Re:Progressive 465 1 Year ago
Mine is upside down too. Got an email back yesterday from progressive saying there may be "clear" problems...I asked for definition of "clear" and haven't heard back yet. I thought that "clear" might mean clearance issues..but am waiting for reply anyway..just to be "clear". seems to work fine and I'm not aware of anything not clearing yet but still have to go 2 up..

I can't say what issues might happen but every shock that i've installed requires the fill hole to be on top so oil does not settle to the fill hole.
The fill hole (nitrogen port) on the shock is the red screw. Will it leak? I have no idea.
I"m no expert on shocks.

Don't quote me on this, but I remember hearing that w/ nitrogen charged shocks, the gas(nitrogen) must be "above" the oil. Otherwise it could seep thru the oil & escape thru the shaft seal ?

Progressive suppenison always send two sets of directions with their springs and shocks.
One is the generic directions and the 2nd is specific to the bike you are installing it on.
I believe the directions for screw up and clicker on left is on the bike specific sheet.

Thanks for the good info and glad I asked. Will flip it over. I should be an expert at this install real soon!
