Why do bmw drivers look down on toyotas? They're both cars, and they both drive relatively well, but one costs a hell of a lot more than the other.

That's more or less my point. Assuming new cars, a BMW owner spends more on the same basic function as a Toyota owner. BMW owners tend to be loyal to their brand's "ultimate driving machien." While Toyota drivers are loyal because it's what they want, a basic, few-frills car.

There is a lot of bashing on Harley people here. Let me ask you all this, out of all of the Harley people you come across, how many don't care or even complement you on your bike? We're all riders.

When I was in Sturgis for my graduation/pre military present (2004) I had an '81 Suzuki GS750 and the chain went out. I had people coming up to me every 15 minutes asking if I needed help. It was a wonderful feeling and something I feel is uniquely biker. Every demographic has a few out liers, but it's been my experiance that bikers usually are the nice, cool headed, and peaceful (unless you mess with their family) regardless of what they ride.

A lot of HD riders are good people. One day when I was still on my 750 Shadow, the voltage regulator went out and I was stuck in a parking lot. A man on a Harley pulled in and did everything he could to help. In the end. He went back to his shop and brought me a battery. He wouldn't let me pay him anything for his trouble, just asked that I return the battery when I could. I took it back to him the next morning and again asked if I owed him anything? He told me that he was just doing the right thing and I owed him nothing. That man is a true biker.

The way that i see it. If you are a A$$HOLE riding a Harley you would be the same A$$HOLE riding a metric bike.

I agree!,Yup don't always blame it on the bike its usually the rider

I don't think anyone would argue that most are good people, but it only takes one turd to stink up a big room. Bikes are built pretty equal these days but anyone on a budget would be better off not going HD. I got my 07 RS with 2200 miles on it, pipes/BAK/12 inch apes with stainless cables for $6200. My cousin with a budget of $6000 got himself a 1991 Heritage with over 100K miles that didn't run, needed the top end completely redone. He has now doubled that money into it and he still breaks down and is in bad need of new paint. I will say that when it's running he goes neck and neck with me, God only knows what's been done to that Evo
