Jetting my R* 4 Years, 6 Months ago
|
|
|
Hello there fellow boaders,
I have a 2006 Silverado, it has hard chrome 3 inch straights and I am adding a kuryakyn pro series hypercharger. So the question is what size jet should I use. I appreciate and help with this and wonder if any of you out there have a similiar setup. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have a DJ jet kit, start with ....
Main - 180
Pilot - 35 (stock)
Needle - 5th clip from top (washer, clip, white spacer, silver washer)
PMS - 2.5 - 3 turns out
Try the WOT test as described here ..... http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/94/96/
Once you have the main dialed in then drop the needle to the 4 the clip.

I see alot of post about rejetting. I havent changed pipes, so is there any reason I should be concerned about rejetting?

No. Even if you change pipes you probably won't need to re-jet.

If you put after market pipes and air cleaner on you will need to re-jet. The bike then has a noticeable change in HP and Torque.

Hey Doc,
Not that I am questioning the roadstar master, but the hypercharger only came with a 170, a 182.5, a 185, a 187 and a 205 main not a 180. Will one of these work or do I need to buy a 180 main? Thanks again.

That recommendation was for a DJ jet kit; you have a Mikuni jet kits. The two are not the same.
For your setup I'd start with:
Main - 170
Pilot - 35 (stock)
Needle - 5th clip from top (washer, clip, white spacer, silver washer)
PMS - 2.5 - 3 turns out
It would be good to have a 167.5 on hand as you may need that one. You probably don't need the 172.5 but it's always a good idea to have those 3 sizes as those are the ones most people seem to run.
