Know what sucks? 12 Months ago

Being afraid of heights and watching this video or this video. Watch either one full screen. Go on. I dare you.
Know what sucks more? Not being afraid of heights and still getting vertigo sitting in my desk chair.

HOLY CRAP That guy on the tower wasn't always attached by his harness. He's got stones that clang when he walks

That was just two kids going up on that crane, no safety equipment. One slip, bye-bye.
It was hard to watch. Didn't used to be afraid of heights but as I've aged...

For the guys that do that for a living, I give em two thumbs up. Big ole' stones, for sure...
But, for the kids that climb them for fun... Their days are numbered...

Why is it that ladders and the roof of my house freak me out, but I can (could) ride the door of a Blackhawk with my feet hanging out at altitude, and that seemed OK? I still did not like ladders or high deck height then, but I was ok with the 7 ton skyfish WTF?
PS, I don't hang out of helicopters anymore.

I saw the video of the tower job the first time a year or so ago and it was an OMG moment for me then too. My self preservation instinct seems to grow stronger as I age but I think I'd like to try climbing one of those towers once just to see how high I could make it before turning back.

$10.00 says at our age, we'd get tired before we get scared...

Being a former professional roofer I have been on top of some very tall buildings. Heights are something you get used to. But I know that some people do not like them.
