I sorry for another tire question! 1 Year ago
Ok, it's time to start the planning for a rear tire replacement. Stock size is 150/80/16 Metzler says I cn use a 160/80/16 according to Metzler the only diff is about 10mm in width and 15mm in highth.

I bought a new front tire that has the thin WW for a great price, so I bought it. Now I am looking for the rear tire and saw the MU85B-16 tire with the thin WW, I think it is for a HD appl. It is about 8mm narrower and 10mm shorter, but has a higher max weight capacity.

Which way would you go? Stock or slightly larger or would going a little smaller to get the narrow WW be OK?

I did a forum search and did not come up with the answers that I am looking for, so that why I posted.

I have a 140/90 on the back right now, which is what the MU85 pretty much equates to. I have a Silver edition silverado, and I can't see how cool my tire looks running down the road, and I have to stoop to see it when it's sitting still. Performance is perfectly fine. If "looks" works for you, and you want a bigger tire, go for it. I'm more about function, and the 140 works as well as the 150 for me, and has the same weight carrying capacity. That, and I bought my last set of Commanders when Jake Wilson was closing them out to stock the Commander II, so paid 59.00 each for them!
