lower belt guard 12 Months ago  
Does the lower belt guard serve much of a purpose? PO took off the one on my R* and I'm wondering if I should put it back on. If so, I will probably get a chrome one as the original plastic ones look cheap.

I guess it could keep rocks, sticks and small animals out of the pulley. But I think it is really on there to keep stupid people from putting their fingers in there, then suing Yamaha.

edit: I took mine off long ago.

Works for me. I ain't putting my hand in there and the chrome covers are a little high priced.

Mine was MIA when I got my bike and no problems and yeah chrome is a little pricey so it won't have one either

I have a chrome one...I like the flow it adds to that area.

yea I noticed my lower rear fender has started to crack this is what I think sucks about the Roadie to many cheap plastic Parts anyone know the parts # for that lower rear fender gaurds it the plastic piece under the metal fender look like 4 bolts hold it on THANKS sorry to steal your post bro.my bad

I agree with you about the looks. I'll probably end up getting a chrome one but I'm not in a big hurry if it ain't hurting anything without it.
