Well, I just got done cleaning out my
carb, and installing Curts ported manifold on my 2001 Roadstar.
and Rode it for a couple miles around the house, no major problems, but felt like the carb still needed some fine tuning.
Well I rode it out to work lastnight (about 30 miles out) and it did fine. Got off work, and she didnt want to start. Ended up getting a jump because I tried so much, I drained the battery, but at least I got it running.
Well while letting it idle, before going back home, it wanted to stumble and the idle kept dropping, unless I juiced the throttle a bit.
Figured I would take a closer look at things from the house, but apparently the bike didnt agree, because about 3/4 of the way there, it just died. Tried starting it back up, but no cookie.
Just trailered it home and didnt have a chance to look at anything before it was off to work (where I am at now). Im going to try to get into it tomorrow, but my question is this: would the
PMS screw being slightly off, cause all this? I didnt change out anything else in the carb, and of course I did go to the ported intake. It already had a 170 Mikuni
Main in it from the previous owner, to match the B.A.K. and
V&H longshots. A few weeks back I changed the longshots to a set of Roadburner 3" drag pros. Other than that I have not messed with the bike. Does anyone know if there is a significant difference between the two sets of pipes? and maybe that is an added part of my problem?
