Our Poker Run Gone Bad :( 1 Year, 1 Month ago  
We are having our American Legion Riders Poker Run today

A guy coming over with a group from the coast crossed the yellow line, clipped a toy hauler and went down, lost a leg

Then a crotch rocket went down, took him away, no details of the extent of his injuries

Then a group going up the hill collided with a group coming down the hill, no official word yet but those on the scene said a passenger lost her life on that one

Ya know poker runs... drive thirty minutes to a bar, pick a card, drink a beer... rinse and repeat five times

This will be a sober party tonight

Sounds like a bunch of drunks giving bikers a even worse name . You won't get any sympathy here.

Sux but where the parties injured drinking & riding ? If so thats just plain stupid. Never liked Poker runs or events with beer as the destination.

I stay away from any runs where alcohol is available. Also noticed bad things have a tendency to happen in 3's. Prayers to those affected.

The first accident was early in the morning with the group on the way here, I Don't think they were drinking.
The rice racer was not part of the event, just happened to be in the same area.
I'm not sure if last guys were drinking or not.
Poker runs are what they are and bikers are bikers and vets are vets.
Anybody that says they go to Biker event and doesn't drink hasn't been to many events.
Last run I was on even the booze fighters MC were toasted
Bikers and beer go hand and hand
