Dropped the bike!!! NO ONE SAW ME!! 1 Year ago
I rode to work a couple days last week (Wisconsin). It was in the low 40s when I headed out and that's pretty cold for me especially with more than an hour commute. I got to work and pulled in front of a parking space and made a hard right so I could walk it back into the space and the bike stopped fast with the wheel turned all the way to the right. It just went down and I was too cold and stiff to get my leg out in time (what can I say, I'm over 50!). But I was able to hop off.

Of course the first thing I did was look around to see if anyone saw me. No one was around and I was at the back of the lot behind a couple rows of cars so I don't think any in the building could see me.

Luckily nothing broke and got only a tiny scuff on the top exhaust pipe. The weird this is when I got it upright it wouldn't start. Not only that but the starter wouldn't even click...just seemed totally dead. I made sure everything was turned off, got my S#*T together and tried again and it popped right over. Is there some sort of cut off that kicks in when a bike goes down? (2000 R*) It was in gear so I'm sure that's the reason it died when it went down. Man that was a sad sight!!

True...no rocker yet. And get this: My wife has been going on a few rides with me and said "you should get a bigger bike with the nice seats, stereo etc. and we could ride to Sturgis some time!

I was like...who the hell are you and what did you do with my wife?!?! LOL That's something I NEVER expected to hear her say.

Newer bikes do have a tip over cut off. Mine's an 08, don't know about yours.

It is called a bank angle sensor and that happens to the best of us. Some of us older folks more than once. My luck I was seen every time.

Wow, that's a new one on me. Where does this sensor live?

Funny how the first thing any of us do when we dropped our bike, is to look around to see if anyone saw us..

Yea, I dropped a rented Harley several years ago (before I got my bike) in some soft gravel doing a u-turn. And who was the first vehicle on the scene? Yep, another biker! That was before I knew how to pick up a big bike...I thought my spine was going to rip apart. I was able to pick up my bike nice and easy now that I know the secret!
