Re:S.O.S all roadstar gurus...HELP 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I fixed on problem and now have created another big one.

I found a tiny scrape in the brake lever wires where they enter the switch housing. A little bandaging and all good, with no more blown fuse.

Now I have a much larger problem.......During all of the times that I had every electrical component off of my bike, there was a little "gremlin" that snipped some of the wires off of the left side switch assembly and now I cannot seem to get it all back together to get all of my lights to work.
Does anyone have or could possibly take a good photo of the wiring that goes to the turn signal switch and horn button? I am pretty good with putting things back together that I take apart, but my 5 year old daughter with a screwdriver and wire cutters took things apart for me while I was at work........

A new switch assembly is $215.00 at the dealership and I would like to avoid this if possible.

Thanks

David

idaho rider, i messed my turn signal switch up on my bike too. i found a used warrior switch on ebay for $30. the housing from the used one i purchased had road rash. however, the internals (headlight switch & turn signal switch were like new). i had to desoldered the wires from the my broken switch & resoldered the wires to the new internals. puth the internals back in my good housing. if you go this route, take your time! the R* switch has 3 small springs, 2 tiny ball bearings & 2 copper conductors that fit together like a puzzle. loose one of the parts & kiss the switch good bye.did this about about 6 weeks ago & haven't had any issues. It took me about 1.5 hours & alot patience. saved myself about $200 though. here's a link to a R* 1600 switch for $30.
