What about handle bar controls, easily added and available?

Ok, for some reason, this little pun went over my head. I don't get it...

So much for the "little pun"... We joke the Goldwing guys have a button operated hand waver

I have no idea where you are going to get or if they even make handle bar mounted stereo controls except for the Harley's, Goldwings, and BMW's

My stereo has a smartphone app that I can control the stereo with.
It's easier just to turn the knob

Just got this from Shark:http://www.sharkmotorcycleaudio.com/product/SHK58006160SPKS/sale-600-watt-motorcycle-marine-audio-system-w-35-inch-bullet-speakers-wired-remote.html
I read some previous posts here about a Shark system. Not sure what they were complaining about. My system sounds great at 80mph. Fellow riders sometimes tell me turn it down, comes with handlebar control.

The JVC has a remote control if you could figure a way to mount pointed toward the receiver face it would work.
