I am trying to replace the lights in the meter assembly, I have taken out every screw possible but I am still unable to remove the spedo dial to gain access to the bullbs. Is there a trick to this?

you access the lamps from the back, no need to remove needles. the lamps are in a "T" socket, 1/4 twist and out it pops there are 4, if using lamps from Radioshack, then I suggest you replace all since they are a 12v lamp, stock is a 14v lamp, the RS will be a hair brighter and it will be noticeable if you only replace the bad lamp

Running down the road your charging is putting out about 14 volts. I haven't heard how long the Radio Shack 12v bulbs are lasting.

For a buck 99, for 2, they last long enough. I got at least 2 or 3yrs before one blew out.
