k so I know I should know this and perhaps I do but im gonna ask anyway to confirm what I suspect does a lean or a rich situation cause back fire and poping out exahust

I think running rich could not sure though. Mine does it too but I'm thinkin it's the accelerator pump

Does it do it during acceleration, or on decel? Is it more like a loud bang or a "burble"?

and its a combination there is pop when I let off the throttle when shifting up as well as several pops loud and burbles on full decel useing down shifting to slow down for a stop admittedly I have some tuning to do I just installed and air checked a new manifold and had to re install my stock carb while waiting for parts for my new hsr 42 will be a few weeks for the parts so I need to re tune the tps and check my pms screw for tuning if not possibly rejet due to the new manifold ported of course

Sounds like you're running lean. Try backing off the PMS. If that doesn't work, check for vacuum leaks.

the only vaccum area on the stocker is the ais port correct? and by backing off you mean in or out?

Yes the port on the intake manifold is it.....baring any leaks.
By backing the PMS out, you make the pilot circuit richer.
If the carb has never been jetted, and you have the pipes and a freer flowing intake, as well as the ported manifold, you probably are lean. If your other carb is almost done, you could back the PMS out to 3 or 3 1/4, and see of that helps yo get you by. If you want to get by, you could also put a second washer under the plastic spacer on the needle for a total of two. That'd give you a half step richer in the overlap. The washer, and the PMS adjustment will probably help until your other carb is finished.

Without having any idea where you are in the carb, ie completely stock or if someones been in there already, we're all just guessing.

all my carb adjustments are listed in my profile ty guys
3 1/4 turns on barrons pms with needle clip on 4th one and 170 main
