Just bought a used 2003 Road Star 1600 Silverado, it has 3" hard krome pipes with a Kuryakyn twin velocity air cleaner. To start it runs fine in 1st and 2nd gear, at the top of 3rd starts sputtering, in 4th and 5th it will cruise fine, but if you get in the throttle to pass it starts spitting and sputtering, lay off the throttle and roll into it real slow and it will go. Also AIS
has been removed and I would say where I live in South Florida is right at sea level if not a few feet below. I know absolutely nothing about carbs, but I have purchased a jet kit and PMS
screw from Barons and a new gasket for the re build which a friend was gonna do for me, unfortunately, I am to impatient. So off to BMS for repairs tomorrow.
So next stop is Broward Motorsports who seems to be pretty well known for Road stars.
Now that I have said all that will the parts I bought work for where I live and my set-up?
And any input on what I should be running would be appreciated.
