Here goes...

My longtime girl and I were having some problems and I ended up splitting it off with her. I told her everything I was unhappy with and basically told her when she was ready to resolve those, then MAYBE we could work something out. Well, I was working with this chick and we kinda hit it off, had a few intimate encounters, then I got a job at another facility (for more money) but it was 2 hours away and basically told her that it wasn't gonna work out blah blah... Well, my ex and I had had dinner, talked, worked out our differences, and have been together I guess the past 6 months or so. Well, my buddy (or so called buddy) and his friend went back to the chick I was seeing at work (after I split it off with her) telling her some BS about I was smashing my ex the whole time we were seeing each other and all that mess. Well, naturally the chick was pissed, but came to me and asked me about it. I denied it because it wasn't happening. Well, I was pissed at my buddy because of what he did and didn't talk with him for several months. Trying to be the bigger person, I pretty much had a "come to Jesus" talk with him, willing to forgive and forget, but ensured him that if he EVER did anything like that again, we'd be done as friends and he'd be finding an oral surgeon to replace all his teeth. So we were cool (I thought). Come to find out he calls me up one day and wants to ask me somethin... Wanted to know what I thought about him and that chick "talking" and possibly dating her. You have to understand I wasn't super twisted over this chick in the head, but it was more than a quick lay. So, I told the guy he could do what he wanted, he's grown, but I didn't think it was right because of all the history there. Well, dude went to the movies with her last night and ends up stayin at her place.

I was raised where ya don't mess with ya buddy's ex... offically GF/BF or not. I'm 26 years old, and this is some high school drama mess. Am I wrong for being pissed? IDK if it's really him pursuing the relationship or if it's her trying to get back at me. Either way, dude's cross out of my life as a friend. Opinions?

I personally don't understand why you shouldn't date a buddy's ex. I mean once it's over then it's over, right? What's the big deal?

Thats what best buddies are for. Wouldnt you rather have him doing her, or a total stranger?

Be happy... your decision is made and you are not with her anymore... you moved on... Bro, Friend or Aquaintance... you should have no recourse now... it is what it is my friend...

I'm with Grinder on this one. You've been with your current girlfriend for 6 months or so...does it really matter that this guy is banging your ex-fling?

If ya can't get over it, maybe re-evaluate your current relationship and why you told your "friend" to go ahead if you think there is a code he'd break.

i can see where it may get a little weird sometimes but i dont see any reason you should be upset over it unless you still have feeling for the ex chicky. seeing that he asked if its ok 6 months later tells me he does respect you now if it happened like 6 weeks later then i would think somethin was going on when you were not around when you guys were flingin' all and all i dont see a problem with it as long as your 100% over her

Yeah, I see both sides of it. I definitely don't have feelings for her like that anymore. I guess my issue is the situational awkwardness of it all. There's no way I would ever date any of my friend's ex's simply because of that, not to mention my girl and she don't get along AT ALL. Just wanted to put it out there to see what everyone else thought about it. I guess maybe I over-reacted. Ya live and ya learn.

Maybe, just maybe, he was trying that school yard b.s., trying to get close to her!
But sice you and him came to an understanding, he felt bad and wanted your approval to see her!!
