I have to step in for the one particular dealer...Greater Yamaha in west palm beach,Fla. I've never had to use them for anything mechanical (engine wise)... but had quite a few tires installed there and the service was always outstanding and they don't charge for pulling the front wheel...only the rear. A friend orderd a crash bar from them a while back for his v star. They called him late on a Fri to let him know it was in. He was a little bummed because we were going on a ride the next morning and he was dying to put it on before we left. The next am I met him and another bud for breakfast before meeting up with a few more friends. We stopped by the shop before heading out because he wanted to know if they were going to open later so he could pick it up on the way home. They asked asked if we were in a hurry and did we have 15-20 min to spare to which we said yes. He grabbed his bike and pushed it just inside the shop. Two employees grabbed the crash bar and had it installed in about 15 min and said " there you go"! NO CHARGE! My other friend and I were talking w/Brian...the service Mngr while this was happening while looking at his Venture. The front header had something melted on it when he bought it that we could never get off. Before we left, Brian came up and handed my friend a shiny new/used header pipe for his Venture ....again NO CHARGE.
I think their labor rate is high and I'd rather do what I can do myself or find a friend or smaller shop to work on my bike...but Greater Yamaha in Wpb does deliver great service. I like them...but I have been to other dealers like Cycle Springs over here on the west coast and they were nothing but rude, uninterested and acted like they were doing me a favor and I've never been back.
Just wanted to say there are some good ones out there.
