The Oil lock and damper rod are held in place by the bolt. If the damper rod spins, you can use a broom handle to hold it tight enough to zip it back on with a pneumatic impact wrench, which is also the best way to get it out. It would be difficult, although not impossible, to get the parts out of line, but as stated before, I'll pull 'em, even on my bikes that had drain screws.
