Once you get it off...remember to get the 14mm magnetic replacement plug. MUCH easier to get ahold of in there.

with a dremmel tool, hand file, etc. square up the sides as best you can to get either a 16mm/standard equivelent socket or needle nose vice grip to get some bite.. I would do it on a warm motor vs. cold. gentle taps with hammer on the socket rachet or vice grip...

Good luck!

I bought a short 17mm socket that I could get in there. But I think the 14mm replacement is the way to go, good luck tat!

Hey did someone have a link to the 14mm replacement plug?

I had the same problem; tried every tool I could buy with no such luck. I even tried grinding down a wrench. I ended up taking it to a local auto shop and the guy just whacked it with a chisel. The plug broke loose, I went home and immediately put the 14mm plug in and haven't had a problem since.

Try drilling a hole through the head perpendicular to the plug. Should be able to get a nail/awl or ? in there to loosen it. Thinkin' out loud.
