My Son (in the ARMY) tells me that in Kentucky you can discipline your child as long as the red marks are gone with in 48 hours? if this is true, maybe it would be a GOOD thing if the other states followed suit.

To the men out there that coddle like women...HTFU, grow a pair and teach your kids right from wrong...raising good kids can be hard, dirty, unforgiveing work but in the end you will at least have the comfort of knowing they won't end up on the Internet with everyone wishing they could have 5 minutes alone in a room with the only rule being don't kill them.

Re mothers? I have a cousin that has 5 sons ranging from 19 to 34. All 5 are movie star "good looking", football superstars. Two of them were on their way to be pro golfers that could whip most grown men at 11 yrs old. They own a golf course and these kids had the world in the palm of their hands. Enter the problem ..... the mommy. From day one my cousin was threatened with divorce and "I'll take everything you own" if you lay a hand on any one of them. She has 7 drugged out,thieving brothers and sisters that were raised w/zero discipline (their mother)too.
Now jump forward to young adulthood .... all 5 of those boys are lazy,jobless,thieving thugs strung out on pills...just like the mothers brothers and sisters. . The entire family has gone to hell and the mom is out whoring around town
blaming it all on the dad.....go figure?
I blame my cousin for one thing....for not whipping those kids a@@'s and telling the bit%#...you don't like it leave. He may have lost that useless wife but it prob would have saved atleast some if not all of those boys from the life they're living now.
Just another example of spare the rod...spoil the child. The gvmnt needs to butt. Out of our lives and let parents raise children the way they see fit. A spanking is not child abuse. Raising them to be entitled disrespectful thugs is abuse.

I don't think my parents cared too much about the 48 hour thing. I usally wasn't one to make waves after a whoopin anyway! Pretty much desrved it!
Grew up in Kentucky. Don't know if that law still stands, but I know schools used to quote it. then again, our teachers, principal, and even bus drivers could paddle kids.

Ok so I figure this is only going to work twice before the general public grows weary of it, so we have to hit the ground running.
Can anyone arrange to videotape their kids berating me (crying, of course) and perhaps even beating me with their skateboards, or those rollerskate-shoes, or whatever it is the kids are using these days? Straight 50/50 on the payout sound good? 
Not making light of the situation, but I commented ealier on a serious note. |
