Blue Star- yes, silicone lubricant spray. I use a small nozzle tube so I don't make a mess everywhere (and don't get any overspray on the rear tire!!!) Just a small amount on both sides of the belt all the way around.

I used to use Mr Sheen- surface polish, but since getting my rear wheel alignment right, I no need it anymore!
With tension I do the twist test

Guys, while you are in there checking the nut on the front pulley, if take out the two nylon rollers in front if the pulley, you will never have that chirp again... all they are for is to keep the belt from jumping teeth on the pulley... nothing more... I removed mine over 50k miles ago with no issues and I have air ride...

As previously stated 'Belt Spray' will not work on a toothed belt, it is a Friction Compound used on smooth belt such as V-Belts and the such (Your simple can of Hair Spray will also do the trick) We used it a hundred years ago on our rear tires when racing to help us get better grip when leaving the starting line. IMHO if you need to treat it, it may well be the time to replace it, that is as long as your rear wheel is properly aligned and everything else is copacetic....jus sayin
