Maybe it is that internal spring like brown91redcam said. U could fix that yourself. You do need to check for the recall tomorrow...do you have any yamaha dealers near you?

Yes we have a Yamaha here but not sure if they will grant the recall. I will call Yamaha US just to confirm that the bike havent received the recall yet, this will help me to push the guys here...

Shouldn't have to Push them, Yamaha will pay them for the parts and labor, so they make money either way. They should want to do it for you.

Besides the spring, there have been some members who have cured shifting problems by lubing the shifter pivot shaft where it goes thru the bracket by the left foot board. When that shaft gets dry, it causes the shifter to bind and makes gear changes difficult.
