Crashbar/engine guards? 12 Months ago
I was thinking about the Lindby, but they are about $100 more than the Yamaha Big Bar. Is the Yamaha bar junk or are the Lindby that much better?

I've read stories of both of them breaking. Haven't read anything bad about the cobra fatty bar though, but it's spendy too.

I should add that I have the yamaha big bar and no issues so far. I really need to update my sig pic

Re:Crashbar/engine guards? 12 Months ago
My Yamaha big bar broke right on the factory weld! Bike has never been laid over either. Dealer said he wouldn't/couldn't do anything about it since it was over 3 months old. Pissed me off. My buddy welded it up better than brand new. I mean he did such a nice job you couldn't even tell it had been broken. Then not to long ago it broke in the exact same spot. Maybe it's a high stress area or just a fluke. I was going to get the Lindby bar but that would mean I'd have to get rid of my floorboard extensions. I wasn't thrilled but I went ahead and ordered a new big bar. Hopefully this one will be better...

The lindy costs more but you will have to get highway pegs for the big bar. I think cost would be about the same when your all done.

I have one on my bike and the only problem I have with it is trying to find clamps locally to mount my pegs. It is just the right size
on these bikes. I held my old regular freeway bars up to the bike before I mounted the fatty bars and they looked to skinny. If the fatty
bars hold up like the regular freeway bars I'll be very happy, I had the regular ones on my vstar for 10 years with no problems.

Got the Yamaha engine bar on mine - just saved me from crushing my leg when a garbage truck ran a stop sign last week and laid my bike down. Wouldn't ride without one now and I'm looking at putting rear crash bars / saddle bag protectors to save even more damage that what occurred to my bike.

Bar had bent back so far it severe the banjo bolt to the rear brake master cylinder but did not crack

i believe that lidsy is better but they cost more money and they both totally look different, thats another thing you should think about the type of look you want...my 2 cents.

i like the lidsy bars look and that they double as highway pegs, that being said i have the cobra bars and they are the only bars i will run. the reason is last year when i was t-boned by a chevy pick up the bar saved most of the bike in fact i was able to ride it home after the bar was taken off.
