I rode to Cocoa from home, maps said 50 miles home to destination. Following the exact route round trip was exactly 100. Yesterday while riding on I-95, every mile marker I passed came in at the .2 miles on odometer. What's the difference in speed vs distance? Has anyone actually checked against other vehicles? I drive a particular route for work which is 30 miles round trip via my truck, Roadie says 30 miles too. What am I missing with this 'error'?   Logged     Four wheels move the body. However after a 10-15 miles, 75-80 feels natural. However there are those that don't like it because they have lost their confidence as the years pass and htey start to slow down. The way I understand it is that manufactures never want the speedo to read lower than the actual speed and they are given a pretty wide latitude when overstating the actual speed. Odometers are held to a higher standard since they are responsible for recording the mileage of the vehicle. They would probably have to issue a recall if they were notoriously slow! It's a percentage off, as the gap widens with speed. My car reads a reliable 3 mph higher than actual speed at all times. Side note, I read a review of a GPS speedometer that criticized its accuracy because it didn't match his car speedometer. No problems, as a matter of fact she licks it when I talk dirty to her....she like to speed up....
