should i drive the cage or ride the bike.... 10 Months, 4 Weeks ago
ok so for almost 2 weeks now i have been fighting a pinched nerve in my back. in the morning i feel ok enough to do the normal stuff like get out of bed to use the restroom, shower, cook some breakfast, ect but as the day goes on the pain starts to incresse and by the time i come home from work at 1am i can hardly stand let alone walk. i went to my spine doc and he said i either pinched my sciatic or i may have blown another disk out he put me on some pain killers (that i cant take cause i drive a semi truck and d.o.t would pull my CDL if i drop dirty) muscle relaxers that i can only take at night cause they will make me just want to sleep, and a steriod anti-inflamatory. today is the first time i feel even close to normal and here it is 12:30pm and i am dying to ride my bike that i havent in a week and leave the cage at home. but should i with today being the first day i feel "ok" for now or should i maybe wait to see how i feel tonite and go from there?? im dying to ride but should i chance it.. and i allready know the phone call i would get from the wife at around 6pm if i do take the bike

I'd say let it heal a bit partner. Still dealing with mine. Sometimes ya just gotta lay around the house.

Of course, that sux if it's riding weather

It's pretty easy to load up your hips with a slight issue on the bike.

Smoke, get an inversion table. I've walked down the same road as you. I've had one back surgery & may need another. Buying that inversion table was money well spent. My back pains are gone. When they do bother me or I over do it, Hang upside down for a few minutes, & life is good

Wait one more day at least. I know how you feel about not riding but you don't want to push it too soon. And remember, even if you don't like our advice, you did ask for it.

when I first bought it, 2-3 times a day. Now, just when my back hurts, or when I just feel like relaxing. Turn on some tunes, hang upside down, life is good
5-10 min. is all that's needed

Like they say Smoke, if you have to ask the question... Sucks to not be riding, but it sucks more down the road when you could have been riding if only you'd stayed off it for a little longer.

http://www.teeter-inversion.com/

I believe he said 5 to 10 mins at a time. My buddy got one and he really likes his Teeter. I believe you are only supposed to hang upside down for a few minutes and build up to 10 minutes the degree of angle is something else you have to build up to also. My girl has one and is giving it to me for my hip (which needs to be replaced).
