Mine wraps around the bottom and up the left side, then tucked up under the tank. Can't tell from the pictures. The filter doesn't come out! Its all one piece. The filter itself has a chromed face. So removing it for cleaning is the same way you put it on. Two screws on the mounting plate and loosen the clamp on the back. I'm going to make the same mod's on my bike 02 v-star 1100 classic, I ordered the barons needle/jet kit but what I've been reading on the forums, is that I may have to go higher on the jets thean whats included in the kit, is that correct? I'm new to all this soo I was just wondering. Did you maintain the rubber mounts for the air cleaner at the cylinder heads? I'm thinking, due to vibration, they need to be kept, but just wanting to make sure. Thanks!!
