Good Day and God Bless Everyone. I just have to ask a question. My new 06 R* sounds like a jet turbine mainly when im getting on it and pull in the clutch to shift and give the throttle that extra twist before you pop in the next gear.(You know when you give it the extra rev before releasing the clutch.) Is this just in the new o6's or do any of you other folks here it in there R*s.Thanks and Ride safe, Mike

you´re blipping the throttle on upshifts?

if thats the case, you shouldnt be. if you´re `getting it on´ you should just pull the clutch and flick it straight into the next gear.

on downchanges some (me included!) blip the throttle, but this is something open to debate as to do it or not.

try just going through the upshifts normally and let us know if it still makes the same noise

Ditto erzio .... don't need to blip the throttle on upshits.

Don't know your setup but you may be hearing the intake. When you open it up the engine sucks in a lot of air and the sound you hear is the air moving through the airbox into the engine.

It's like making an 'O' with your lips and sucking forcably in.

Hi Topnotch:
Could it be the noise one hear from a new/almost-new engine? You know, the too-tight engine sound?I might be in the field, but if the bike is brand new /or low mileage, maybe some additional mileage would get rid of the noise.
But it's hard to guess without hearing it, obviously...
Good luck, de Stef
