Gram I had mine adjusted perfect. Went on 5000 mile road trip and my pipes started to turn gold. Pulled the carb and rechecked PMS and found that it had backed itself out to 71/2 turns. Please tell people to dab some silicone on screw when they get it dialed in. Oh by the way to get the discoloration off pipes I used Blue Away and then Semi-Chrome. |

At the risk of embarassing myself and since I am very much a visual guy. Is there any pictures that I can reference to see where the PMS screws are? The front pilot air jet is very easy to find. I have read how riders are adjusting their carbs on the road but can't seem to locate the main PMS screw. |

I can take it from here. Is there a special screwdriver available to reach up there to adjust the screw without having to remove the carb avery time? |

The article indicates that a choke-on warm-up is normal. How long is a normal warm-up? Any differnece between 1/2 choke and full choke? Can I ride for a couple of minutes until it warms-up and then shut off the choke?

Charm ....
You don't need to remove the carb, only the air cleaner. I just use one of the smaller jeweler's screwdrivers and mark on side so that I know how much I have turned it.

'Normal' is a relative term. 
At summer temps, I choke mine fully to start then back off to half-way after 10 seconds and push it all the way in within a couple of minutes driving.
At cooler temps, around 40F, I choke mine for about 2-3 minutes, then half-way for about 5 minutes.
BTW, I never let the bike idle. I start the bike then after a few seconds take off and drive conservatively until the bike warms up.

I wrapped teflon tape on the threads to give my MaxMix PMS a little tighter set.

Greg you probably have the better idea here. It is a little aggravating to dig silicone back out of hole to get at screw again.
