I just ran into this forum and would like to introduce myself. I started riding with a new 1966 Honda 305 when I was 21. Moved on to a Honda 750, two 900 Kaws, Honda CBX, 500 Susuki two stroke, a couple dirt bikes and several Harleys. I now have seven bikes. Five old Hondas (two 400 automatics), an Electra Glide and a custom cruiser.
My newest bike is a 2001 Roadie Silverado. I saw a Roadie made into a bobber this March in Daytona and fell in love. Looked all summer for one I could afford and bought one on EBAY a couple of months ago. One of my buddies told me about this forum and it has been a fantastic help in the change over into a bobber. I have removed the windshield, bags, both fenders, fuel pump,
AIS, clutch lever (foot clutch), shift linkage (hand shift) and stock handle bars, exhaust and turn signals. I lowered the rear suspension. I've added ape hangers, LED lights, powder coated wheels and soon new V&H Shortshot exhaust and custom seat. The exhaust is back ordered. Just bought the seat on EBAY, my wife has agreed to help with the custom part.
All of the changes I've made to the Roadie were helped or instigated by this forum. The Tech articles are great. Thanks for the articles and for answering questions. I know I have asked questions already asked and answered in other forums because I have found them later several times. Thanks again for the patience.
I will post a picture of my 'new' bobber when finished. There is still much work to be done.
