rear spring coil removal 4 Years, 5 Months ago
Hey guys,
I need to remove the spring from the shock to replace with a new heavy duty one. As far as I can tell, it looks like I need to compress the spring and remove the top clip. Then is looks like it will come out. So if I am on the right track, let me know. And if this is the case, then all I need to do is find a small spring compressor that will work. Perhaps I should just take it to a shop, but I enjpy the challange. Figuring I'm the right track, anyone have ideal for spring compressors?
thanks ZZ

Yeah I will probably take it down to a shop. I thought I would try to do something since the day sucks, mostly ice and rain in Omaha.

This will give you some help on taking the spring off. If you don't want to get a spring compressor then yup, take it to a shop. It can hurt a lot if things go wrong trying to be creative.
