The bags line up fine, the problem is I cant use the bolts to mount the eyebrows that have the piece to hang the bags from. The backrest 'eyebrows' are flat, the solo 'eyebrows' have recesses where the bolt goes - the flat backing of the bag mount points that attach to the bolts that hold the eyebrows on dont fit into that recess.

make sense? 2 different bolts for 2 different eyebrows, the bolts I need for the bags dont fit on the other set of eyebrows to run bags/no backrest.

that is why maybe some spacers came with the brackets originally that fit into the eyebrow holes..and you dont have those spacers...

some how I remember getting some spacers with my passenger grab rails that you would use with the straight eyebrows and would not use with the back rest eyebrows

SO one set of bolts would mount the bag supports to either set of eyebrows

I had a similar situation mounting my ez brackets with my bags. It was as easy as longer SS bolts and SS washers that fit the dia of the recess on the eyebrows and the bolt. Once mounted they pretty much disappear.

proper way would be to buy SS round stock in a dia that fits the recess, cut it to length, drill a hole for the bolt size, and buff to a chrome like finish.

Thats what I was thinking.

Do I even have use the eyebrows at all? I thought of just going without the eyebrows all together and just using some spacers.

Thanks for the input everyone, I do appreciate it.

also, i have all the parts from both the backrest and the original eyebrows and no spacers to speak of.

Thanks again!

Here's part of a pic of an unnamed members bike used without their permission This unnamed person is using Ghost brackets I believe. Pretty much the same as Easy brackets.

there ya go
That is actually one of the selling points for the Ghost or EZ Brackets. When you remove the bags it only leaves the little posts
