I am planning to do this in the next week or so, but I am curious what others have done with their choke knob once we can remove all that garbage on the left side of the engine? I also have a MAXFLO so I need to relocate the Idle knob as well. I plan to make a bracket that holds both, side by side or one over the other, not sure yet, and mount that in the same location the fuel filter/pump were mounted, but much tighter to the tank.

The pic in the article is very difficult to see, but looks similar to what I may do (except I think I can dig up a piece of stainless and polish it up).

I got a 2" piece of aluminum stock and cut off a 5" piece. I then bent it so that it had a 2" and 3" legs.

In the 2" leg, I drilled two holes to mount this new bracket where the fuel pump bracket is mounted.

I then tapered the 3" leg slightly for looks and drilled a hole in the end which I then slotted to accept the choke.

Polished it up and voila

Got a picture? This is pretty much what I was thinking to do as well, but have the choke and idle knob side by side (if the idle knob will reach). We have a ton of scrap stainless around here (making up some nice floorboard extenders out of some now) that polishes up really nice. (the tail rack on my bike is 3/8" scrap stainless rod that shines as nice as the chrome does). Figure I can toss on some chrome caps on the choke and idle adjuster and be lookin spiffy.
