Cougar,
I can't tell how you ran your wires to the carb. After I relocated my pump, the wires just kind of hung there. I tied them up to the manifold but that gets a little warm and I don't like it. Suggestions? By the way, SWEET ride you got!

Thanks ....I ran mine just like you did not want to they are sheathed and have been been that way for at least a year with no problems at all.If it bothers you get some more sheathing or put a few rounds of electrical tape or splicing tape on them....Coug

I relocated mine last month. However, when I attempted to relocate the choke on the L/H side of the seat I broke the choke jam nut when tightening it down. Soooo, I made a bracket and mounted it right where the pump use to mount, just like Docs. Then, while I had the carb off to replace the choke cable, I relocated the electrical wires and choke cable over the manifold. Real clean and plenty of elect wire.

Now I am debating going pumpless. The thought of the fuel lines over the engine and next to the battery does not set well with me. There is between 3/4 and 1 inch minimum spacing in areas and I have added insulation sleeving to the fuel lines in those hot areas and extra clamps so not to vibe a hole in the lines.

Its not a bad mod. But maybe pumpless...

I'm pumpless... no issues. I did trim the main fuel feed in the petcock by 1/2" in order to get all 4 gals to flow before she "runs out," and you need reserve. I didn't even go with a bigger check valve for the float bowl. Runs great!

Hi all I relocated my fuel pump under the right side cover a few months back now and have had trouble with the carby flooding and thought it might have something to do with the heat under the cover from the oil tank any thoughts on this,my choke cable sits under the tank as I dont use the choke ever, thanks John

So I've read this thread a couple of times, and done a search but,
I really don't understand the benefit of the relocation.

I like a good mod as much as anyone but, it's gotta make sense.

Sorry if I'm a bit thick.

Some folks like the uncluttered look of the engine without the pump showing...if you remove the pump, it's one less thing to go haywire..

I tried hiding pump ended up going pumpless no issues to date, relocated choke to right tank side mounted with tank bolt pretty sweet tucked up and in between tank and seat, had to manipulate bracket to get right angle but I like it looks great real low profile, as far as the left side goes it did clean it up but I filled mine in with a cleavage plate this is a product pic as i have mine off but like the look.

Cleavage plate... nice idea, but I preferred going with open jugs, which was why I removed the pump. I wanted to expose as much engine as I could. I did that on both the left and right sides.

If you don't ride WOT a lot, or at high speeds for long stretches, it is said you don't need a pump. I haven't skipped a beat without it yet, so I'd say that statement is true... as far as my * is concerned.
