rake?????? 4 Years, 5 Months ago
Hello everyone this is my first post. I bought my Roadstar in Oct. and have found this site to be very helpful. But now I have a specific ? that I have not found an awnser to. Any info would be very helpful.

Can anyone tell me if there is a company that sells raked neck bearings for roadstars. I saw that they have these for hd but have not been able to find them for my Roadstar.

Thanks,
Zack

Thanks for the info. I checked there and like everywhere else they make no mention of it. I am beginning to think that they only make them for HD.

Did you contact them? They might be able to get them or steer you to someplace that has them. I imagine Doc is busy with Christmas right now but he can probably help you more than I can.

You can rake the neck .... cut and stretch it out .... cheap if you DIY.

You can rake the trees .... a number of vendors sell from 3 to 6 degree trees.

You can do both of the above for max effect and stock-like trail .... around $700

You can one of these Chopper Kits for mucho $$$$.

.... and Merry Xmas .... get off the site and have some turkey.

Hey Doc, I've got 5 degree trees on the way, Should I go ahead and do the neck 6 or is the 5 in the tree plenty ridable? I ride it alot and if I need to while I got it tore down I can rake the neck if needed.Just don't want to do more than nessesary, Thanks.

It's just not the rake on the trees that will determine the ride .... it's how they are made and how you bike is set up. I'd recommend that you put the trees on and take a long ride. It will feel different at first so give it a bit of time to see if you like it.

If your bike is stock height, dropping the rear will improve the ride. Try it again.

If you really don't like it you can raise the front a bit or rake the neck .... 5 degrees should bring the trail back to about stock.

...and for folks like me, what doc just rattled off is as close to Greek, or Aramaic, as can be.

I guess what I was wondering specifically if anyone knows about raked neck bearing cups? Rather than cutting the neck itself. I have seen them for harleys.
