Re:Yamaha Raider 4 Years, 5 Months ago
Thanks for welcoming me to clinic. Is funny that you said that, I am going to go to deserted Shopping center, I am going to spray paint the box 12'X 24', same as the box during my training I am going to buy about ten tennis balls and cut in 1/2 and placed them inside the box and train my self to make u-turn and check to see how far will stop at the different speed. I am clearing nervous about that. I work in a IT dept. at my job and My bosses they have harley's. I can wait to hit the road. It should be fun.
Following are the picutres that I took hen I went to dealer to put down deposit.
The Blue one is what I want.

The Raider is much better looking in person. Bought mine last week. Got the Red one. Love it. Still breaking it in. I think the pipes could be a little louder, but other than that it is great. Much different to ride than my V-star 1100 Classic.

Before my Roadie I was riding a 01 V-Star 1100 Classic, loved it, great handling, but you must see an enormous difference when it comes to torque and power with your new Raider. I know you’re still breaking it in but how do you deal with cornering and general road handling with the big 210mm rear tire and narrower front 21'' tire, must be night and day compared to your V-Star. Yamaha really listened to what motorcyclists wants and I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell a gazillion of them. BTW, does it come with Metzeler tire?

Ride safe.

Hey RG, There is an enormous difference. Totaly different ride. Cornering is actually really good on the Raider. Yea I believe it will be a hot seller. My dealer is the only one around here. He said that he had about 50 people looking at this bike before I bought it. Only had it together 5 days before I bought it. So I have the only one around here. Get a lot of looks and ooohs and aaws when peole see it. And yes, it does have the metxeler tire.

Yeah both tires are Metzeler Marathon. I have a candy red S w/flames and am going to try Fatbikes drilling process it's just not loud enough. The guys at the Raider site don't seem to keen on it, but I kinda like the way the stock pipes flow with the lines of the bike- if it doesn't work I'll have to put out the $ for aftermarket. (I'm in Fl with a lot of old drivers and I want them to know when when I'm near them). As far as the bike itself LOVE IT then of course they have came a long way since I last owened 21 years ago!

Hey guys,

Personally I love the curve of the exhaust system, think it flows very well with the overall design of the bike. Hope the after market exhaust manufacturer will respect the original design.

Well guys, with the big 1900cc and the Metz, you can expect to have a blast next summer!

Tourlou,

RG

Hello Raider1
I have been looking at all information about this bike for month now and finally I put a small deposit on it two weeks ago. I pickup mine in March. I am reading all the information that you guys putting. I love the exhaust the shape and the sound. I don't care for the laud noise. I am a novice person when it come to bike riding. Actually this is my 1st bike, that's a good way to go Right? anyway I am going to NY bike show tomorrow and I am hoping to meet the guys in Star club around here. They all going to be there.
Good luck with your and let me know more about your experiences.
