Hey Novice, It is to bad you have to wait till March to get it. That is a long time to wait to ride. I just got back from a ride on mine. 35 dgrees out but it is just great to be out in the wind. I really enjoy mine. The exhaust is one of the things I like the most. Hopefully the aftermarket guys will keep the same general design. Since you are a novice rider, remember that this bike is preety big. (Lots of power).
Ride safe.

I am getting the Raider S Blue color. I went to the NY Show today and what you see is going to be mine with saddle bags and 19" windshield instead of this small one.

A VERY welcome addition to the Star Motorcycle line up

I would love to own one but I would miss the beefy look of the R* not to mention the saddlebags /windshield /fat front tire /passing lamps/floorboards..etc

The Raider looks like its going to kick the ass of the HD Rocker..

Good Luck Yamaha..

PS.. there is a Raider forum over on Delphi Forums

Well I rode one yesterday. Handled great, fast, cornered nice. Sits a little high and way to quiet. Alot of wind drag at 90mph. But it gets there quick if you need it.

I was looking at a blue one yesterday. I sat on it, but didn't get to ride it.
When you say alot of wind drag, are you refering to wind drag on the bike, or to you?
