BAK to carb 4 Years, 4 Months ago
|
|
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
So, I'm out in the garage doing some minor mods. Installing Baron Ported Manifold, and Fuel Pump Relocation. First time I've personnally had the carb off. So far so good.
Well I'm getting ready to start putting everything back together and i notice that in the rubber boot between the BAK and Carb, there are remnants of some type of glue. Looks like the rubber boot should be stuck the back of the BAK, but it has come apart. Should this boot be "glued" back to the BAK? What should I use?

The glue that holds the boot to the bak is junk. Mine was loose right out of the box. I used plain old silicone (only thing I had on hand)and then put a heavy duty zip tie around it. Still holding fine. But if you have high temp silicone it would be better.
Oops. Happy New Year to you too

You're welcome. Make sure you don't have silicone squish out inside. Don't want that stuff getting into your carb.

thanks again. I figured that, I wiped out any excess, and it is still sitting drying. I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to have any of the silicone in the carb.
