Please introduce yourselves!! - Again 7 Years, 11 Months ago
Unfortunately, we were unable to import the posts from our last forum when we made the changes to this website. One of my favorite topics was the "please introduce yourselves" thread. So here it is again

My name is Steve Graham, and I'm a Roadieholic....

I am a Network engineer, currently transitioning into the Real Estate industry. After twenty years of being a Network engineer and traveling throughout this country, I am opting for something that will allow me to spend more time at home (Corona, CA)

Father of two children, one is 17 (John my son - posts under GRAMJr around here) and the other is 22 (My daughter Coila). My daughter is living in London, England for the summer, then returning home in the fall to finish her bachelors degree. She is planning to graduate at the end of the fall semester.

John is a mess (a good one) and pretty typical in his demeanor and motivations for a 17 year old. He loves bikes, but hasn't ridden for a while. I bought him a 250 to learn to ride on, and he had an accident. Fortunately not hurt too bad, but enough to keep momma from approving his riding for a while. Even though he was hurt in the accident, he still loves to ride, and goes out with me whenever he can.

I learned to ride when I was 15 on an old BSA Star 250. I used that as my primary transportation for quite a while. Graduated from that up to Yamaha enduro, then to a Suzuki GS400. That took me well into my young adult years. After having children, I took a break from riding in the interest of not worrying my wife to death while the kids were small. Got back into it about six or seven years ago with an older Goldwing. Didn't take long to realize that cruisers were a lot more fun to ride, and that brought me to the Road Stars.

I haven't looked back since

Looking forward to hearing about everyone else..

EDIT NOTE: I never imagined we would reach this point, but now that this thread is approaching 1000 posts, its actually putting some strain on the server, so we are going to have to lock it to keep it out of our "new forum posts" column. I would invite anyone who has not posted yet to do so in the Introductions folder just we have been doing in this thread. - Gram

Well, I would be the aforementioned John, 17 year old son of GRAM. My name is John Graham, and unfortunately, I don't have a bike right now. I spend most of my time trying to learn as much as I can about the Road Stars (and motorcycles in general), waiting for the opportunity to own one myself. I had (emphasis on had) a 1986 Honda Rebel 250 that I was learning to ride on, but that didn't end too well. To put it simply, I tried to take on a guardrail and lost. I came away with a few scars, so my mother won't let me get anywhere near them anymore. I'm just a basic kid, and I'm interested in learning all that I can.

Post edited by: gram jr., at: 2004/06/17 00:11

My name is Ted.

My Delphi moniker is DocShadow which arose 'cause I have a Doctorate in Science and, at the time that I signed on to Delphi Forums, I had a Honda Shadow.

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which is 75 Km (about 40 miles) north of Odgensburg, NY. My job takes me to the States quite often, usually to DC, but I did visit Gram's neck of the woods in March. Looks like my next trip is to Hawaii

I ride a 00 Silverado which I tear apart each year. I enjoy working on my bike and find it a good diversion from the stress of the job. I am an amateur painter (just bought a new Iwata Eclipse), amatuer welder (finally bought a MIG welder), amateur bodyman, etc. If possible, I tend to make my own parts.

Hello Gram:

Found this site from the Road Star Forum. I ride a '03 anniversary edition Road Star (#556), which I absolutely love. I put 18,000 miles on her since purchase in August, 2003. I ride every chance I can, and usually ride from 8:00 Saturday mornings until 8:00 PM Sunday evenings. I don't need a destination, just a direction.

I work as a secretary at a university and like my job, which has provided me with a fair living for the past 15 years.
