Twin Velocity Experience? 4 Years, 4 Months ago

Just curious. Anyone running a Kuryakyn Twin Velocity on their Roadie?
If so, what's the verdict? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

I've had no experience with this one, is this the stacked cones? I just think it would not be a good roadworthy intake becouse it may disappoint you when you get caught in the rain? or riding in dusty conditions. With my Baron's BAK I have had trouble riding through some rain. It started raining on me in Mobile while we were eating and I had to let it idle with choke on for about 5-10 min before taking off on a 100 mile ride back home in the rain. I could ease the throttle and run ok but if I gave it too much it would start sucking in water, I even had the rain sheild over the BAK. But later I took the filter off and noticed on the top the rubber seal was pinched and water was driping right into the carb throat. D@MN stealership installed it $#!tty, along with the exhaust, they had to unbolt the floorboard mount and then cross threaded one of the bolts back into the mount I have not fixed that yet but the bolt sticks out about a qt of an inch.

They've been discussed quite a bit before. Try a search. Should come up with some useful info.

Never had trouble with the BAK in the rain while riding but you're right .... if the bike sitting long enough for the rain to saturate through then it can be difficult to start and keep going.
I used to carry a rain cap (from a hotel) to cover the BAK but I seem to have lost it.

I don't have one, but what I've seen and heard from many is that they stick out way too far and hit your leg. That was enough to sway my decision away from them.

I heard the same thing that Mr. Cancilla heard. And that is that it stuck out pretty far. Me being 5'7", I did not want to have to wrap my short legs around it , so I opted for the Baron BAK. I just put the BAK on and re-jetted, installed the Baron PMS and removed the AIS. On my first tank of gas I am getting just over 41 mpg. That is about 7% increase from before.

It does stick out a ways, so your leg has to kind of bend around it to keep your right foot in a normal position.
Performance is average for an aftermarket air kit. Not worse than anything else out there.
The big plus... Its a huge really bitchin' piece of great looking chrome. I used it on my Silverado for a couple of years before switching it out to a Maxair kit (the Maxair fit the theme of the bike better).
Its value is in the look. If thats what your going for its hard to beat.
