Yamaha Big Bar Mounting 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Anyone out there with a Yamaha Big Bar engine guard who can tell me how this thing mounts to the scoot?

Bought one off a show bike - in excellent condition - but came without hardware or instructions.

I'd sure like any insight you can offer.

Thanks!

The top piece slides over the frame support with a piece of rubber to keep it snug and prevent vibration and noises. A piece of inner tube will work.

The bottom I believe takes a smidgen longer bolts and three washers. One bolt position doesn't need a washer because of a thicker spot in the mount.

I have the directions somewhere, I can scan them and email them to you if you want.

Yje instructions will definitely help...having a hard time thinking what the "frams support" is. I know where it bolts at the bottom and have chrome bolts and spacers if needed.

Again. Thanks.

Up towards the top of the down tubes. There is a V shaped brace between them. On top of the big bar is a V shaped bracket that slides up under the brace. That's why you need the rubber between them so you don't get a big time rattle. I lost my rubber piece and boy does it make noise.

Oh yeah. There is no bolt or anything for the top. It locks in there good and tight once you have the bolts in the bottom.

Well,

Now I'm thinking that I didn't get the whole deal. The top of the big bar I got runs straight across between the side tubes and has four holes in it. Was that "V" shape piece bolted onto the top of the bar?

Is there a square section right in the middle of the top of the bar with the Star logo on it? Here's a pic of mine. You can see where the bracket is bolted onto the bottom and then bends down to go under the down tube brace.

No, looks like it's been modified.

Came off a "show bike" so.....

I'll see if I can't get a pic or two.

Thinking I may be out a hundred buck, unfortunately.

If they told you it would work and it won't take it back. Raise hell if they don't want to give you your money back because they lied to you.
