Oil coming from air filter 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Hey guys, I changed my oil and put exactly what the manual calls for as far as capacity. When i take off hard on the throttle, oil comes out of the bottom of my k&n air filter and the wind blows it onto my pipes. Creating black burn marks. Do you think it's just that I might have too much oil in the bike? These dipsticks are very tricky to read (at least they are for me ). Also, do you think it is possible to add hazard lights to the bike like harley has ? ( I don't want a Harley, I just want the hazard lights).

Most agree here if you change your oil and filter only put 4Qrts. back in and you`ll be fine. The dip stick can be misleading

If it's an open filter make sure it isn't the K&N filter oil that is getting on your pipes. Mine did that the day I put it on. You can also disconnect the hose coming from the head to the back of the air cleaner and run it out the bottom of the bike. You will need to plug the hole in the back of the air cleaner if you do that.

I can almost guarantee that you have too much oil in the bike. 4.3 qts is, believe it or not, too much. I had the same problem before I found out about only putting in the 4 qts. It is possible that your air filter has too much oil on it. The K&N filters come from the factory with way too much oil on them.
